New hotel groups join G-rez

Since its launch in January this year, three hotel groups have signed with the GDS and Internet provider G-rez, adding nearly 50 hotels to the chain.

These are Van der Valk Hotels with properties mainly in the Netherlands but also in Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, and Florida, USA. Aitken Spence Hotels has 10 properties in Sri Lanka including culture and heritage hotels such as Kandalama Hotel which has won several green tourism awards, beach resorts including Heritance Ahungalla rising almost vertically from the sea, and hill country resorts like the Bandarawela Hotel which was the first mountain resort to be built by the British 100 years ago in what was then Ceylon. Aitken Spence also has four Adaaran luxury boutique wellness resorts in the Maldives now benefiting from G-rez. The third independent group to have joined G-rez is Ocean Hotels with properties in Tenerife, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands.

The number of small-to-medium independent groups joining G-rez reflects Great Hotels’ identification of the need for an advanced technological solution and specialised advice to assist groups in maximising their revenue. Business Development Director Carly Gotz says: “In the past CRS technology has been restrictive and Hotels were not able to switch rate strategies and run short-term promotions easily. G-rez gives them the flexibility to create new opportunities to increase their bookings.”

G-rez gives hotels the opportunity to increase their profitability by offering them robust technology and individual personalised service at an attractive, affordable price.
